2. Our Privacy Promise

Noshlog is designed with privacy at its core. Your food log data never leaves your device. We do not operate servers that store your personal data. There is no account creation, no cloud sync, and no data collection beyond what is strictly necessary for the app to function.

3. What Data Stays on Your Device

The following data is stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to our servers:

Food log entries (meals, servings, dates)
Cached food product data (from OpenFoodFacts lookups)
Nutrition goals (calorie and macro targets)
App preferences and settings

This data is deleted when you uninstall the app.

4. Third-Party Services

Noshlog integrates with the following third-party services, each with their own privacy practices:

OpenFoodFacts — When you scan a barcode or search for food, the barcode number or search query is sent to the OpenFoodFacts API to retrieve product information. No personal data is included in these requests. OpenFoodFacts Privacy Policy

RevenueCat — If you purchase a Noshlog Pro subscription, RevenueCat processes the transaction. They receive your purchase receipt from Apple or Google for validation purposes. RevenueCat does not receive your food data or usage patterns. RevenueCat Privacy Policy

Google AdMob — Free users may see advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data for ad personalization, subject to your consent (see Section 6). Pro subscribers do not see ads and no ad-related data is collected. Google Privacy Policy

5. Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect your name, email address, or any personal identifiers
We do not track your location
We do not access your contacts, photos, or files
We do not create user profiles or accounts
We do not sell, share, or transfer any personal data to third parties

6. Advertising and Consent (GDPR/AVG)

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), we request consent before serving personalized advertisements through Google AdMob. You may choose to:

Accept personalized ads
Accept non-personalized ads only
Upgrade to Noshlog Pro to remove all ads entirely

On iOS, we additionally comply with Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework and will request your permission before any tracking occurs.

7. Your Rights Under GDPR (AVG)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), known in the Netherlands as the Algemene Verordening Gegevensbescherming (AVG), you have the following rights:

Right of access (Art. 15) — Since all data is stored locally on your device, you already have full access.
Right to rectification (Art. 16) — You can edit your food log entries and goals directly in the app.
Right to erasure (Art. 17) — Delete individual entries in the app, or uninstall to remove all data.
Right to data portability (Art. 20) — Pro subscribers can export all food log data to CSV.
Right to object (Art. 21) — You can disable personalized ads or upgrade to Pro.

8. Camera Access

Noshlog requests camera access solely for the purpose of scanning food barcodes. Camera data is processed on-device in real time and is never stored, recorded, or transmitted.

9. Children's Privacy

Noshlog is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
